| Mark began his career as an Electrical Engineer after graduating Penn State University, but longed for the days when he would sit in elementary school drawing pictures of spaceships, giant robots, talking animals and medieval weaponry. He had always felt so much joy from opening the latest issue of Batman or X-men, just to see how his favorite artists drew these beloved characters and what story they were going to tell today. Storytelling through the visual arts was a dream. In August of 2004, Mark began his formal training and in 2009, graduated from the Luzerne County Community College with his degree in Painting and Illustration with his specialties being graphite drawing and oil painting. While in school, Mark has had the opportunity to study with great illustrators in the industry at various workshops, training sessions, conferences and independent study. Mark has shown his work at the Schulmann and the Quioxtic Galleries (both near Wilkes-Barre, PA), The Spirit Gallery (New London, CT) and The Collector’s Show at Illuxcon 2009. Mark puts his heart, his mind and his soul into every piece he makes and welcomes every opportunity to create. Whether painting knights and dragons, a portrait or the beauty of the figure, there is always a story to be told. |
